Booking software for eyewear brands and opticians
Sesami is booking software for eyewear retailers and opticians that runs on your own Shopify store. Customers book styling appointments, fittings, adjustments and eye tests online, choosing the store and the optician they want. Bookings ring up through Shopify POS in the same sale as the frames and lenses.
What you can take bookings for
- Frame styling and shopping appointments
- Fittings and adjustments
- Eye tests, by optician and room
- Lens consultations and collections
- Virtual try-on and styling calls
Frames are chosen in person
Eyewear is one of the few categories where the visit is the whole business. People book to be styled, fitted and advised, and the frames are decided in the room. That makes the appointment a commercial event, not an administrative one, and it should be counted as such.
Sesami puts the booking in the store you already run, so the appointment and the pair that came out of it are one order and one customer record.
What a fitting actually needs
A test needs an optician and a testing room. A styling appointment needs someone on the floor. A collection needs neither, just a slot and a name.
Sesami models staff, rooms and equipment as resources a service can require, so each of those behaves correctly without you building the rules yourself. Across several stores, each location keeps its own hours and its own team.
Free bookings and walk-ins
Styling appointments, adjustments and collections rarely warrant a checkout. Instant Booking takes them in one step and still creates the customer record, so the visit is attached to a real person. Walk-ins can be added at the counter and land in the same place as the ones booked online.
Afterwards
Sesami Flows handles the reminder, the ready-for-collection note and the follow-up, triggered by the booking rather than by a list. Check-in means the follow-up only reaches the people who came in.
Questions
Can a customer book with a specific optician?
Yes. Staff are bookable resources, so a customer can pick the person, and the slot only appears when they are free.
Can a test require a room as well as a person?
Yes. A service can require several resources at once, so a test that needs both an optician and a testing room is only offered when both are free.
Do we have to take payment when they book?
No. Whether a booking creates an order is a setting on each service, so styling appointments and adjustments can be free while a test is paid.
Can we run this across several stores?
Yes. Each store has its own calendar, staff and hours, and the customer chooses the store before the time.
