# Sesami

> Sesami is a booking platform for service businesses and retailers. Take bookings for services, classes and events — online or in person — and charge at booking or at the counter.

Sesami is a booking platform for service businesses and retailers. It ships as two
surfaces: the **Sesami Shopify app** for daily operations (dashboard, upcoming
bookings, calendar, services, settings) and the **Sesami Admin Portal** for advanced
configuration (resources, buffer times, group bookings, Google Calendar sync, Flows,
users, apps, API tokens, advanced analytics).

Its distinguishing capability is that a booking behaves like any other product in
commerce: a customer can book now and pay later at the merchant's point of sale,
where the booking drops into the cart and is rung up alongside retail items in a
single checkout. Bookings are therefore tracked as sales, not as a siloed payment.
