# Booking software for wineries and tasting rooms

> Sesami is booking software for wineries and tasting rooms that runs on your own Shopify store. Guests book tastings, tours and private events on your website, each booking is priced and checked out like any other product, and staff can ring one up in the tasting room alongside the bottles the visit sells.

## What you can take bookings for

- Seated and standing tastings, with a cap per slot
- Vineyard and cellar tours
- Private events and buyouts
- Club member sessions and pickup appointments

## The problem with a general scheduler

A tasting is not a meeting. It has a price, a duration, a room, a host, a
capacity, and often a bottle that a guest wants to take home. Most scheduling
tools handle the time and leave the rest to you, which is how wineries end up
reconciling a booking system against a till at the end of the month.

## Sell the tasting like you sell the wine

In Sesami a booking is a product in your catalog. It goes through the checkout
you already use, with your taxes, your discount codes and your gift cards. A
guest booking a tour can add two bottles to the same basket and pay once.

That matters more in a tasting room than almost anywhere else, because the
booking is rarely the whole transaction. It is the reason someone visits, and
the visit is where the wine sells.

## Rooms, hosts and tables are all bookable

A seated tasting might need a specific room, a specific host and a table for six.
Sesami treats each of those as a resource, and only offers a time when all of
them are free. Two tastings cannot claim the same barrel room, and a host cannot
be double-booked across the estate.

Multiple sites work the same way. A winery with a cellar door and a city tasting
bar keeps separate calendars, staff and hours, and the guest picks where before
they pick when.

## Walk-ins, upgrades and the counter

Not everything is booked in advance. A walk-in party can be added at the
counter, and a guest who upgrades from the standard flight to the reserve
tasting is rung up in the same sale. Both land in the same ledger as the
bookings that came from your website, so what the tasting room earned is one
number rather than two systems you compare.

## Reminders that actually reduce no-shows

Sesami Flows sends the confirmation, the reminder the day before, and the
follow-up afterwards, all triggered by the booking itself. Check a party in when
they arrive and the thank-you note only goes to guests who actually came.

If you run marketing in Klaviyo, every booking, reschedule and check-in arrives
there as an event you can build flows and segments on. Club members who booked
a tasting but have not ordered since are a segment, not a spreadsheet.

## Questions

### Can guests buy wine at the same time as booking a tasting?

Yes. A booking is a product in your store, so it sits in the same basket as bottles, glassware or a gift card and checks out once.

### Can we take payment in the tasting room instead?

Yes. A booking can be reserved online and rung up at the counter through Shopify POS, alongside whatever else the guest buys.

### Can we limit how many people join a tasting?

Yes. Group bookings carry a capacity per slot, so a flight for eight stops selling at eight.

### Can different rooms and hosts have their own availability?

Yes. Rooms, tables and staff are all bookable resources, and a tasting is only offered when everything it needs is free.
