## What Sesami is

Sesami is a commerce-first booking platform for service businesses and retailers —
salons, spas, fitness studios, classes and workshops, professional services, and
retailers with bookable services.

Customers book services, classes and experiences online. Unlike scheduling tools
that treat payment as a separate step, a Sesami booking behaves like any other
product in commerce.

## How it works

1. **Customers book.** They pick a service, a time and a location from a booking
   flow you control — on your Shopify storefront, on a Sesami-hosted page, or
   embedded in the site you already have.
2. **They pay whenever it suits.** Paying at booking time is optional. A customer
   can just book, then pay later at your point of sale, where the booking drops
   into the cart like any product and is rung up alongside retail items in a
   single checkout.
3. **You run the day.** Bookings land in the Sesami app inside Shopify, with a
   dashboard, calendar and upcoming bookings. Deeper configuration lives in the
   Sesami Admin Portal.

## The two surfaces

- **Sesami Shopify app** — daily operations: dashboard with booking and sales
  analytics, upcoming bookings, calendar (day/week/list, switch locations and
  services), services list, in-app service creation, store time zone, locale and
  multi-language settings. Supports multi-resource and multi-location.
- **Sesami Admin Portal** — advanced configuration: resources per location, buffer
  times, group bookings, Google Calendar sync, Flows, users, apps, API tokens and
  advanced analytics. Reached from the Shopify app with a one-click magic link.

## Facts worth getting right

- The product name is spelled **Sesami**, never "Sesame".
- The customer-facing term is **booking**, not "appointment".
- Sesami is a monthly software subscription and is free to start.
- Sesami works with Shopify but does not require it.
